Deirdre Devaney has fashion in her blood, having started her career in Harrods in London and then moving on to Brown Thomas. Deirdre joined Arnotts in October 2008 where she is currently the Director of Fashion, Beauty and Childrenswear for Arnotts Henry Street and Arnotts Project in the Jervis Centre. Over the past year Deirdre has been busy seeking out new and exclusive brands for Arnotts. Deirdre is very much looking forward to the unveiling of the new ground floor at Arnotts this week where the beauty, jewelry and accessories departments have more than doubled in size.

My favourite item this season is a dress by Yoana Barashi from Arnotts Contemporary Collections.

Edon Manor Shoe boutique in Tribeca NY...Fab shoes in a space designed like a library!

What’s your biggest style weakness?

Shoes!!

Can you remember the biggest fashion faux paux you have every made?

An electric blue Jumpsuit in the 80's!!

Stranded on a dessert Island...what makeup products could you not live without?

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, Clinique Moisture Surge, YSL Touche eclat

How would you describe your style?

I tend to have a Timeless Classic style of dressing. I like clean cuts shapes but with a glamourous silhouette to suit my figure.

What’s the best bargin you’ve ever nabbed?

Shearling coat from the Sale at Harrods reduced from 2,200 to 500....Fab!

What is the most admired piece in your wardrobe?

The Round petite small check jacket from Anglomania by Vivienne Westwood from this seasons collection at Arnotts.

Do you shop on-line? If so what’s your favourite website, if not, why?

I don't shop on-line as I need to be able to feel the fabric and want to try before I buy, I also enjoy the whole instore shopping experience and personal contact.

This season it is my last purchase ....Nicole Miller Dress from Arnotts!

Do you have a favourite place to get your hair done?

Not really....As I travel a lot I have to remain flexible!

Always dress to compliment your body shape and don't become a victim of trends that just don't suit your figure.....

Do you have any beauty secrets?

Lots of sleep and drink lots of water...boring but true.

What’s your most memorable fashion moment?

1st day of January sale at Harrods designer rooms in 1989 ...it was a total frenzy! Rails of Dior,Lacroix,Ungaro (fashion favourites at the time) all cleared in 30 minutes!

What should every woman have in their wardrobe?

The perfect LBD and lots of shoes!

What’s your best last minute tip for feeling fabulous on the inside at an event or party?

I haven't discovered a last minute one as yet however a couple of days before an important event avoid carbs and drink lots of water!

Finally, how has the recession affected how you shop?

I certainly spend more time justifying my spending to myself,however it hasn't decreased the amount that I spend!!
